It’s no secret that car journeys can get very long and boring. You know what I mean, when you can’t sleep anymore, you can’t read anymore… all you want to do is just arrive.
And if us adults feel like that then can you imagine how much more kids feel like that?
Time just seems to go soo much slower in ‘kid world’ and it seems to go soo much slower in the car too. So kids really do have it bad when it comes to long journeys. And what happens when kids get it bad?… that’s right...
We get it bad!
‘Are we there yet?’, ‘how much longer till we get there?’ and their best one to throw at us ‘I’M BORED’.
But not everybody seems to realize that a car journey is the perfect time to spend some car fun time with your kids. How often do you spend time with just your family? I mean having fun with them?
It is also the perfect time to support them in their learning. Let’s face it… it’s not like we have a lot else to do is it? So why not give them the opportunity to practice essential skills? There is soo many ways to practice these in a fun way in the car.
I’ve looked at the best ways/the most fun ways to practice essential skills in the car and I have put these into the car worksheets found on this page.
When you look back on your life do you want to look at the car journey as a waste or do you want to see it as time well spent with your kids which benefited you and them?
